Imitrex
is a medication designed to
attack migraine headaches. It
is the most prescribed acute
migraine prescription medication
in the U.S. Imitrex has given

preventing migraine headaches,

migraine as it occurs. Imitrex
should not be used for other
headaches.
How
it works:
Imitrex
is a headache medicine. It is
believed to work by causing
vasoconstriction (narrowing)
of arteries and veins that supply
blood to the head.
How to
Use:
Imitrex
is to be taken orally at the
first signs of a migraine attack.
Do not take more than 200mg
in a 24 hour period. If you
must take a second dose, do
as your doctor has instructed.
Swallow the tablets with a whole
glass of water and do not crush
or chew them.
Important
Side Effect Information :
Imitrex
has side effects that may include:
flushing, dizziness, nausea,
weakness, drowsiness, feelings
of tingling, heat, fatigue,
or stiffness. If these symptoms
continue or become severe consult
your doctor. Allergic reactions
to Imitrex are highly unlikely,
but if they occur watch for
symptoms such as: rash, swelling,
dizziness or trouble breathing.
If this or any other symptoms
occur that are not listed, contact
your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
If you are interested in taking
Imitrex be sure to inform your
doctor of any medical history
you may have: coronary artery
disease, heart disease, high
blood pressure, stroke, kidney/liver
disease, or allergies (especially
drug allergies). Avoid alcohol
while using Imitrex because
it may increase drowsiness caused
by Imitrex affecting your ability
to be alert. Consult your doctor
if you are pregnant or are breast
feeding before using Imitrex.
Imitrex may cause severe reactions
when used with other medications.
Tell your doctor of all non
and prescribed drugs you may
be taking. Do not take MAO inhibitors,
any headache drug, ergotamine
(containing medication). For
